Gulshan Sharma

Messi helped Miami to reach Champions Cup round of 16 on Tuesday night.

Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami trashed Sporting Kansas City in the second-leg encounter of the CONCACAF Champions Cup. With a 4-1 aggregate success on Tuesday night, the Herons advanced to the last-16 of the Champions Cup. Messi was on the scoresheet in Miami’s 3-1 win in the home leg.

Inter Miami remain unbeaten in the 2025 season, and they didn’t lose a single game in the pre-season tour. The Herons held New York City FC for a 2-2 draw in the MLS 2025 season-opener, thanks to Messi’s clutch assist. Inter Miami will be ready to face their next opponent in the Champions Cup and would look to qualify for the quarterfinals of this event.
