Denzel Aberdeen has played for the Florida Gators his entire college basketball career and has played three seasons there. In his freshman season, Aberdeen scored 19 points in 12 appearances while averaging 1.6 points per game. In his sophomore season, Gator’s combo guard averaged, 3.3 points, 0.9 rebounds, and played in 32 games. He finished the 2023-2024 season with 23 assists, 13 steals, and 12 3-pointers made. When we talk about some of his outstanding moments, his 20 points and 4 steals erased an 18-point deficit to beat Texas A&M, while coming off of the bench.
Aberdeen has great length which he has used to lockdown his opponents. He has been named twice to the FABC, all-state team, and earned first team in 2021 and second team in 2022. He is a four-star recruit who played his high school football for Dr. Phillips and scored 27 points in the 2021 7A state championship game, and led Dr. Phillips to its first championship in program’s history. He averaged 14.4 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 3.1 assists in his senior season at high school, and helped Dr. Phillips return to state championship game again in 2022.

Denzel Aberdeen was born to parents Ian and Denyse Aberdeen. Denzel also has five siblings who goes by the name: Junior, Tristan, Shawn, Kadeem, and Shannon.

Denzel Aberdeen’s father is Ian Aberdeen. According to Yahoo Sports, Denzel’s father, Ian, asked him to re-adjust his expectations when Denzel was thinking about entering the transfer portal. His father reportedly told him to do whatever coach wanted him to do in order to win and Denzel took that advice. The result of that decision has been fruitful as Florida will now face Houston Cougars for the National Championship game.
