All about Carlos Alcaraz's family who supported the Spaniard in his glorious career.
Carlos Alcaraz has become the face of tennis’s new generation, and his title run at the 2025 US Open only adds weight to that claim. The 22-year-old Spaniard has already pieced together a season of dominance, with seven titles, including Roland Garros and the US Open, to his name. Having arrived in New York fresh from a Cincinnati crown, Alcaraz has hunted down a sixth Grand Slam title. But those who have followed Alcaraz’s journey know this rise was never accidental.
Mentored by Juan Carlos Ferrero, a former world No. 1, Alcaraz has sharpened his game with a mix of raw explosiveness and relentless consistency. His ascent began as a 15-year-old professional in 2018, and by 2021 he had cracked the top 100. A year later, he lifted his first Masters 1000 trophy in Miami. The breakthrough came at Flushing Meadows in 2022, where Alcaraz became the youngest-ever men’s No. 1 and a US Open champion. And by sealing victory at the US Open this season, he has become the second player with the most Grand Slam titles, after Novak Djokovic.

Let’s talk about Carlos Alcaraz’s family, who supported the Spaniard in his glorious career.
Carlos Alcaraz gets good support from his family, especially his parents Carlos Alcaraz González and Virginia Garfia Escandon. Alcaraz has grown up in a tennis family, as his grandfather helped convert a hunting club in their hometown of El Palmar into a tennis and swimming club. His father, González, has been the tennis director there for decades. His father was a nationally ranked tennis player in Spain as a teenager.
“In my family, I think we have the sport in our blood,” Alcaraz said about his family’s history with tennis. “We all played from the time we were young.”
Last year, when Alcaraz overcame Alexander Zverev in the French Open final, the Spaniard paid tribute to his parents during the post-game speech. “For me, it’s amazing to have you here supporting me,” Alcaraz said. “Since I was a little kid, as I said many times, I was running from school to put the TV on to watch this tournament on the TV, now I am lifting the trophy in front of all of you.”
The Spaniard also gets support from his siblings. The Spaniard has three brothers, Álvaro, Sergio and Jaime. Alvaro is the eldest son in the family and his two brothers, Sergio and Jaime also play tennis.

In 2023, Jaime won a Rafa Nadal Tour event in Madrid in the under-12 division. Carlos participated in the same tournament seven years prior, winning the under-12 division in 2015 and the under-14 division in 2016. Jaime was also seen on the practice courts with Alcaraz in Wimbledon 2023.
Carlos’ elder brother, Alvaro is not playing competitive tennis. Both brothers travel together and both shared a hotel room at the US Open and enjoyed the movie before Carlos Alcaraz’ victory over Casper Ruud in the final. Alvaro was present for his younger brother’s big events like the Wimbledon and the US Open.

During the loss in the 2023 Cincinnati Masters final against Djokovic, the Spaniard talked about his brother, who was in the stands. “I have my brother here as well,” Alcaraz said with tears in his eyes. “It’s great to have you here, supporting me every day, to make me be a better person every day, learning from you as well, so thank you very much for being with me.”
