Lionel Messi and Inter Miami started the MLS 2025 campaign with a 2-2 draw on Saturday night against New York City FC. The Argentine bagged two assists in the game and helped Miami to score an equalizer in the extra-time. It was the poor outing for star-studded Inter Miami, who are claimed to be the frontrunner to win the MLS Cup 2025.
Last week, Messi played his first official game of the year and scored a match-winning goal against Sporting KC in first-leg encounter of CONCACAF Champions League. The Herons are chasing the MLS title glory this season after a heartbreak in 2024.
