Toto Wolff who once worked closely with Lewis Hamilton has come forth to support him after his comments post-Hungary Grand Prix.
Lewis Hamilton is facing a pretty difficult debut season at Ferrari. Disqualification, Q1 exits in qualifying, lack of points and podium finishes, he has seen it all. The culmination of his worries was finally seen during the Hungarian Grand Prix. It felt like someone flipped a switch that took away Hamilton’s entire confidence. The degrading comments he issues about himself are being discussed feverishly in the media.
His former team boss, Toto Wolff, came to support Hamilton after his recent words. Wolff has been a strong supporter of Lewis Hamilton. Even though the seven-time champion has left Mercedes, Wolff doesn’t shy away from reminding people about his achievements and his talents. In a recent interview, Toto Wolff once again came forth to clarify Hamilton’s position in the team and put an end to the criticism.
Lewis Hamilton’s recent comments were seen as his inability to compete. There were many ramifications of his words. On one hand, people are already blaming Ferrari for not paying attention to Lewis. While others believe that the seven-time-champion is no longer fast enough.

However, Toto Wolff has different opinion for the people adding fuel to the fire with their stories-
“When he goes through difficult times, he takes responsibility. A characteristic of the greats: They don’t blame the team.”
Toto Wolff’s words are a slap in the face of the media. In the previous years, Hamilton was also struggling at Mercedes. It is a well known fact that the Ferrari is not as balanced as Hamilton wants it to be. Even during earlier times, Lewis Hamilton has called himself slow and tried to keep the team out of the drama.
Even though he was dejected, Hamilton still loves racing. In his recent interview with Formula 1, the Briton made it clear that he isn’t going to leave the sport anytime soon.

The gap between Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc isn’t that big. Leclerc may be the only Scuderia Ferrari driver to challenge for podiums. But, he has advantage of driving the Ferrari for the past 5 seasons.
In fact, the SF25 is mostly to blame between the disappointing performances from the two Ferrari drivers. Even after starting from pole and leading the majority of the race, Charles Leclerc not only lost his victory in Hungary but also a potential podium finish.
I work as a Writer at The Playoffs specialising in NHL, Formula 1 and Motorsports. I got into online journalism a couple of years ago. I used to be an intern for a website managing their Formula 1 content and then I served an entire year as a contractual writer.
Read moreFor me, online journalism was not something I expected. I am a Mechanical Engineer aiming to join Formula 1. At the same time, I am a poet, writer and my university’s Literary Club Lead. One day the dots connected together and I realised I could use my writing skills to convey my passion for Motorsports.
The biggest aspects I love about my role are- Scuderia Ferrari and Sebastian Vettel. When I am not fawning over them I like to convey my opinions to the public, in a manner which helps them gain a new point of view. I love helping people explore new ideas about Motorsports and obviously get recognised as a writer all over the world.
Message to Readers: I promise you one day you’ll see me managing operations on track with a Formula 1 team ; )
