England are aiming to extend their flawless start in World Cup qualifying with a fifth consecutive win when they travel to Belgrade on Tuesday. The Three Lions are currently sitting at the top of Group K. They’re holding a five-point lead over the second-placed Serbia.

Even so, Serbia are also unbeaten and have a game in hand. That makes this a crucial fixture for both teams in the race for the top spot. A win for Dragan Stojkovic’s side would cut the gap to just two points and boost their hopes of automatic qualification.

Serbia vs England Preview

Serbia

Serbia reported no injuries after their win against Latvia. Even so, they are expected to make key changes for this contest. Aleksandar Mitrovic, the nation’s all-time top scorer with 62 goals, should return to the starting XI. He will likely partner with Dusan Vlahovic in attack.

Luka Jovic may drop to the bench, while Nemanja Gudelj and Nemanja Maksimovic are in contention for midfield recalls. Vice-captain Nikola Milenkovic is also tipped to start in the heart of defence as Serbia prepare for their toughest test of the campaign.

England

England emerged from their 2-0 win against Andorra without any injury concerns. So, Thomas Tuchel is expected to keep changes minimal. However, Marcus Rashford and Eberechi Eze underperformed last time out. It could open the door for Anthony Gordon and Morgan Rogers to start in attacking roles.

At the back, Ezri Konsa may replace Dan Burn. Meanwhile, Elliot Anderson, who impressed in midfield against Andorra, could retain his place. With no goals conceded so far in qualifying, England will look to maintain their defensive solidity in Belgrade.

Serbia vs England Over/ Under Predictions

Total Goals Over 2.5 @ +105 as per BetMGM:

England are set to bring firepower to Belgrade with eight goals from four qualifiers and no concession to date. This shows their attacking prowess under Thomas Tuchel. Serbia have matched their defensive rigidity. They’re yet to concede, but their last two wins featured four combined goals. With both teams strong at the back yet capable of finishing chances, a match exceeding 2.5 goals appears well within reach. Especially if England exert their attacking edge.

Serbia vs England Player Picks

Harry Kane to score anytime @ +125 as per FanDuel:

Harry Kane has already struck three times for England’s in their qualifiers’ campaign. Thus, maintaining his reliable record in front of goal. His inclusion is critical to England’s offensive thrust. Given Serbia’s intent to seize control early, Kane remains their clearest route to breaking the deadlock at any moment. This makes the +125 odds on Kane scoring particularly tempting.

Declan Rice to either score or assist @ +220 as per FanDuel:

Declan Rice made a direct impact in the win against Andorra. He netted the second goal and remains integral to England’s midfield balance and threat. His presence across goal and build-up phases makes him a dual scoring and assist asset. With Serbia anticipated to crowd midfield and rely on physicality, Rice’s influence could be decisive. Thus, supporting value in the +220 proposition.
