A 70-win season for the Thunder doesn't look like a far-fetched fantasy!
The Oklahoma City Thunder aren’t just winning, they are making history! With their 11th straight win over the Detroit Pistons on Wednesday, OKC grabbed their 64th win of the season, inching closer to joining an elite NBA club.
Only two NBA teams have ever hit the magical 70-win mark in a regular season. First, the legendary ’95-’96 Chicago Bulls, who registered 72 wins on their way to NBA championship. The other, “Splash Brothers”-led Golden State Warriors, who secured a record-setting 73-win season in 2015-16, only to lose the ultimate prize to LeBron James’ Cleveland Cavaliers.
Even the iconic “Showtime” Lakers and 1967-69 Celtics couldn’t achieve this feat, proving just how rare and challenging it is to get to that number.
On Monday, the Shai Gilgeous-Alexander-led team set a new benchmark with its 28th win against an Eastern Conference opponent, marking a record-breaking 28-1 performance against East teams.

According to FanDuel Sportsbook, OKC Thunder’s chances to hit the 70-win milestone is currently at +430. With just six games left, a 70-win season for the Thunder doesn’t look like a far-fetched fantasy.
Their toughest tests will come against the Rockets and the Lakers, games that will determine whether this squad goes down as one of the greatest regular-season teams in NBA history. With momentum and history on the line, OKC Thunder basketball is must-watch TV from here on out!
