Michael Irvin goes silent, Packers set a new milestone and Parsons equals NFL legend. All about the newest trade in the league between the Cowboys and Packers.

The NFL fandoms of the Dallas Cowboys and Green Bay Packers are riding a wave of emotions just a week before the 2025 season kicks off. Earlier today, it was confirmed that Micah Parsons will be traded to Green Bay. For Dallas fans, the news sparked outrage and disappointment, while Packers supporters are buzzing with excitement, already viewing Parsons as the missing piece to a Super Bowl run. Even NFL analysts admitted their surprise, but many backed Green Bay’s bold vision. Parsons’ new deal also makes him the highest-paid non-quarterback in the league.

His performance earned him the reputation of the best pass rusher in the NFL. Parsons was involved in the contract with the Dallas Cowboys earlier on. The true extent of damage the Cowboys suffered is only going to reveal itself in the 2025 season.

Cowboys’ Legend Michael Irvin’s Reaction to Micah Parsons Trade

Michael Irvin and the Cowboys have a successful and legendary history together. The Playmaker was a part of “The Triplets,” who were three key offensive players for the Dallas Cowboys. His performance as a part of the Dallas Cowboys led the team to three Super Bowl victories.

Irvin has a special connection to the Cowboys. He spent his entire career of 12 years in the NFL playing for the Cowboys. His efforts later earned him a spot in the 2007 Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Naturally, the Playmaker and Dallas Cowboys Ring of Honor have a soft spot towards his one and only team in the NFL. But Irvin could not hold back his shock when he heard the news.

“Oh my god, I can’t believe this man. I cannot believe, we just traded Michael Parsons.”

In a video shared by Michael Irvin as his live reaction, he can be seen completely dazed, rubbing his face in disappointment. His voice went cold with dread by the end of the video as he wondered about the future of the Cowboys without their star player and reliable pass rusher.

Green Bay Packers Set a New Milestone in NFL as the 2025 Season Approaches

Amidst all this chaos, there is one team that is building a talented squad for the Super Bowl. The Green Bay Packers have the roster needed in order to pack away the Super Bowl trophy. They made an expensive deal for claiming Parsons for themselves.

However, Micah Parsons isn’t the only big blow to the Packers’ spending. They also have Jordan Love. Love and the Packers agreed to a four-year deal extending his contract with the team.

With Love and Parsons on their side, the Packers have become the only team in the league to spend more than $100 on merely two players in a single season. Jordan Love has a $220 million deal for four years with the Packers. His average earnings amount to $55 million a year. Parsons and the Packers have agreed to a four-year $188 million deal. Parsons will be earning $47 million a year in his new team.

Micah Parsons’ Record Sets Expectations Clear Ahead of 2025 NFL Season

Michael Parsons’ debut in the NFL set a lot of things in motion. He quickly made a name for himself as one of the best defenders in the league. He was the 2021 NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year. Additionally, Parsons is a four-time Pro-Bowler from 2021 to 2024.

As he enters his fifth year in the league, the famed DE has already equaled a historical NFL record. Parsons is the only second player in the NFL to have at least 12 sacks in each of his first four NFL seasons. The first being Reggie White.

Reggie White would later earn the nickname of the Minister of Defense for his performance in the NFL. Parsons has the chance to go down as one of the best defenders in the league. The experts believe he is going to put in blood, sweat and tears to make sure the Packers’ money doesn’t go to waste this season.
