The Colombian Winger Remains Open to Leaving Anfield This Summer.

Liverpool winger Luis Diaz’s future at Anfield remains uncertain. New reports suggest that he is open to leaving the club this summer. Liverpool have rejected multiple approaches from Barcelona and Bayern Munich. Even so, both European giants are continuing to monitor the Colombian closely.

According to the journalist and transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Diaz “remains open to leave Liverpool this summer, if good proposal arrives for the club.” Barcelona currently see Diaz as a priority target following their failure to sign Nico Williams.

They are reportedly preparing a new bid after an initial offer was turned down in June. The Catalans are even said to be exploring ways to adjust Diaz’s wages to facilitate a move. Reportedly, the winger is keen on a new move elsewhere. Bayern Munich, meanwhile, have also stepped up their pursuit.

As per Sport, Diaz held a video call with Bayern manager Vincent Kompany, which reportedly went well. Bayern’s latest offer of €67.5 million was rejected. Even so, the Bundesliga champions are expected to return with an improved bid exceeding €70 million. This will include performance-based add-ons.

Liverpool Face Key Decisions About Luis Diaz

Liverpool have so far resisted all offers for Diaz. They’re valuing the 28-year-old at close to €100 million. With the Colombian under contract until 2027, the Reds are under no immediate pressure to sell. However, Liverpool are interested in Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak.

They are also linked to Hugo Ekitike. These transfers could reshape their forward line. Hence, they could potentially increase the Reds’ willingness to part ways with Diaz. Diaz enjoyed a strong 2024/25 campaign, scoring 17 goals from 50 appearances throughout all competitions.

However, competition to start has intensified with Cody Gakpo and Federico Chiesa also vying for spots in Liverpool’s attack. Boss Arne Slot reportedly prefers Gakpo on the left. Thus, raising questions about Diaz’s long-term role.

Barcelona and Bayern remain in direct contact with Diaz’s representatives. The situation is expected to escalate in the coming weeks. With the player open to a move and two European giants circling, this transfer saga may continue to drag on until the window closes.
