Federico Chiesa’s future at Liverpool has come under the spotlight once again after the Italian forward was left out of the club’s Champions League squad. The decision raised fresh questions over Chiesa’s role in the Liverpool squad under Arne Slot this season. According to the latest reports in England, Liverpool have no intention of entertaining interest in Federico Chiesa.
Turkish giants Besiktas had made tentative enquiries about the Italian forward, with the Turkish Super Lig window remaining open until September 12. However, the Reds have made it clear that Chiesa is not for sale at this point of time.
Federico Chiesa is still seen as an important part of Liverpool’s frontline, especially after a summer of major attacking changes. The 27-year-old resolved to stay and fight for his place this season after his stunning 89th-minute volley against Bournemouth helped Liverpool make a winning start to their campaign.

Chiesa had already been the subject of speculation over the summer, with Serie A clubs Napoli and Atalanta monitoring his situation after he missed Liverpool’s pre-season tour of Asia due to a minor injury. However, the Reds remain committed to keeping him, even though he was left out of their Champions League group-stage squad.
Despite some bids received, #Liverpool always consider Federico #Chiesa non-transferable. In fact #LFC have turned down the approaches from two #SerieA’s clubs in July and an offer from a Turkish Club (#Besiktas) for a loan with the option to buy last Thursday. #transfers

With Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez departing for Bayern Munich and Al Hilal respectively, Chiesa’s experience is seen as a key asset in ensuring stability in Liverpool’s attack. The former Juventus man has featured in all three of Liverpool’s Premier League fixtures so far. Arne Slot’s forward line is in transition, with £125m record signing Alexander Isak set to bolster Liverpool’s attacking options after the international break.
Liverpool signed Chiesa from Juventus in August 2024 in a deal worth up to £12m and the club believe he still has an important role to play in their evolving squad.
