Kuminga was out of action since January 4.
It was a special night for the Golden State Warriors and their fans. Their golden boy, Stephen Curry, made history by becoming the first NBA player to hit 4,000 career three-pointers.
While this was a historic moment, Warriors fans had another reason to celebrate. Jonathan Kuminga returned to the court after missing 31 games.
The Warriors, currently the sixth seed in the West, had been without Kuminga since January 4. He suffered an ankle injury against the Memphis Grizzlies and had been out of action ever since.
His return was felt immediately. Head coach Steve Kerr, who looked unfazed after Curry’s record-breaking shot, was later seen smiling as Kuminga threw down a dunk in the fourth quarter.
Hhahaha watch Keegan Murray face-guard Steph and give up an open dunk to Jonathan Kuminga, followed by Steph pointing at Murray and then to where his help responsibility was supposed to be. pic.twitter.com/2jnSsfIDck

Despite playing on a minutes restriction, Kuminga delivered a strong performance. He scored 18 points in 20 minutes, making seven of his 10 shots. Kuminga’s return helped the Warriors secure a dominant 130-104 win over the Sacramento Kings. This victory extended their winning streak to six games.
