UFC CEO Dana White announces the scheduled fights for the UFC 321 and UFC 322.

UFC CEO Dana White provided much-needed confirmation for all UFC 321 and UFC 322 fights through an official announcement via his Instagram. UFC 321 is scheduled for October 25 in Abu Dhabi, whereas the UFC 322 fights are set to take place in New York City on November 15.

UFC 322 Welterweight Title Bout – Jack Della Maddalena vs Islam Makhachev

The fans were buzzing with anticipation about the high-intensity fight between Islam Makhachev and Jack Della Maddalena. The former lightweight champion is going to challenge the defending welterweight champion in a bid to join the elite fighters with belts in multiple weight classes.

Della Maddalena and Makhachev’s fight was sure to take place once Maddalena took the throne from Muhammad at UFC 315 in the welterweight class.

Makhachev, who is on a 15-win streak, has been vocal about his move to the welterweight class in order to challenge the title. His opponent Maddalena is an equally frightening fighter with an 18-win streak in his favor. While Makhachev is the favorite for the title, Della Maddalena is no slouch either. He was rather comfortable winning against Muhammad during his last bout.

Both Muhammad and Makhachev have similar fighting styles, owing to their grappling moves. The matchup also raises an important question – Is Makhachev going to claim as much success as he moves up the ladder?

UFC 322 Women’s Flyweight Title Bout – Valentina Shevchenko vs Zhang Weili

Zhang Weili, the former strawweight titleholder, will be vacating her title to pursue her second belt. She will move up a class to challenge reigning champion Valentina Shevchenko. The Bullet is arguably the best fighter in the women’s flyweight class and ranked number one in the women’s pound-for-pound rankings.

While Shevchenko holds every record possible in the flyweight division, her opponent is one of the most dominant champions of the strawweight category. Weili looks forward to the fight as she aims to become the second woman to win a UFC belt in two weight classes, after becoming the first Chinese fighter to win a UFC championship at UFC 312.

UFC 322 Welterweight Bout – Leo Edwards vs Carlos Prates

Former champion Leo Edwards, ranked fourth in the welterweight category, will take on Carlos Prates, ranked ninth in the welterweight category. Prates is confident with his latest victory at UFC 319, which he secured with a spinning back elbow KO.

UFC 321 Heavyweight Title Bout – Tom Aspinall vs Ciryl Gane

The reigning champion, Tom Aspinall, will be fighting once again after a long break to defend his title against Ciryl Gane, who is ranked third in the heavyweight division. Both Aspinall and Gane are going to fight their first bout of 2025.

UFC 321 Women’s Strawweight Title Bout – Virna Jandiroba vs Mackenzie Dern

Since Zhang Weili, the defending title champion, is going to vacate her strawweight title, Jandiroba and Dern are going to fight it out for the strawweight crown. The last time these two duked it out in the ring, Dern was able to defeat Jandiroba at UFC 267.

Even though Dern lost her form for some time, she was able to pick herself up over her last two victories. Meanwhile, Jandiroba is on a winning spree. She has won her last five matches, beating the likes of Angela Hill, Marina Rodriguez, Amanda Lemos, Yan Xiaonan and Godinez. The Carcara appears to be in the form of her life as she aims to become the top strawweight this October.

UFC 321 Fight Cards

Before the title fight in the Heavyweight and Strawweight divisions, these contenders are going to fight at UFC 321-

  • Heavyweight Bout – No. 2 Alexander Volkov vs No. 5 Jailton Almeida
  • Light Lightweight Bout – No. 7 Aleksandar Rakic vs No. 11 Azamat Murzakanov
  • Bantamweight Bout – No. 2 Umar Nurmagomedov vs No. 8 Mario Bautista

The stage is set for numerous title bouts in the upcoming UFC 321 and UFC 322. Will fortune favor the challengers like Makhachev and Weili, or are the reigning champions going to show why they are at the top of their weight classes?
