An era ended on SmackDown last week when the GOAT, John Cena, bid adieu to the blue brand. While he gave some incredible memories to the crowd during his last match against Sami Zayn by paying homage to Kurt Angle, CM Punk, and Edge, his own moment was ruined when he was brutally attacked by the Beast Incarnate, Brock Lesnar. Sami Zayn was collateral damage in the rivalry between Cena and Lesnar.
John Cena and Brock Lesnar will face each other at Wrestlepalooza on Saturday, September 20, 2025. Four matches have been announced for the mega event that will mark the start of a new ESPN era for WWE. We might see WWE igniting yet another rivalry to schedule their match for Wrestlepalooza. So what’s in the store for Friday Night SmackDown tonight? Let’s find out
WWE Friday Night SmackDown is scheduled to air live at 8 pm ET / 7 pm CT / 5 pm PT on September 05, 2025. WWE will stream SmackDown live on USA Network inside the United States. Fans from around the world can stream the show live on Netflix with their current plan at various times, adjusted for their respective time zones.
Some major countries are mentioned below:
WWE SmackDown will air live from the Scope Arena, Norfolk, VA, United States. This arena can hold up to 13,800 fans, ample space to keep WWE fans engaged and entertained for the two-hour duration of SmackDown.
WWE has announced two matches for tonight, but what’s more interesting than the matches themselves is the presence of Brock Lesnar on Friday Night SmackDown. Yes, WWE has booked Brock Lesnar for Friday Night SmackDown, and we might see him addressing the crowd and wrestling inside the ring. WWE fans have been waiting for this for a long time now.
Brock Lesnar’s entry to Friday Night SmackDown will be a boon for the blue brand. He attacked John Cena at SummerSlam and then on his last day on WWE SmackDown. They will meet for a match at Wrestlepalooza, but since a GOAT has retired from SmackDown, the Beast Incarnate will now have the responsibility to take SmackDown forward.
Tiffany Stratton has been an anomaly ever since she became the WWE Champion. She has defended her title in one way or another for 251 days. She defeated superstars like Nia Jax, Charlotte Flair, and Jade Cargill to keep her title reign intact, but the champion always has a target on their back. Jade Cargill has finally gotten her rematch for the title. She will pose yet another threat to Tiffany’s invincible title reign.
Prediction: Tiffany Stratton will retain her title and keep her title reign intact.
Randy Orton and Drew McIntyre are two dominant superstars of WWE. These dominant forces, when put together, are bound to collide. While Drew McIntyre injured Cody Rhodes and was bragging about it, Randy Orton delivered a vicious RKO to reignite their rivalry. They met again on Friday Night SmackDown last week, and Randy Orton gave Drew McIntyre yet another beating, intensifying their rivalry further.

The officials were able to separate these two, but all of them received RKO from Randy Orton in return. Drew McIntyre and Randy Orton are set to face each other tonight on Friday Night SmackDown.
Prediction: Match to end in disqualification, and we might see them push their rivalry to Wrestlepalooza.
