The growth of women’s college basketball has led to a huge interest in the WNBA, too. The biggest examples of this template are Caitlin Clark, Paige Bueckers, and Angel Reese. While Reese shone yesterday, WNBA fans are now gearing up for the first pro battle between Clark and Bueckers.
As the Fever hosts the Wings on Sunday, this match-up is bound to garner the most attention. For the WNBA player props enthusiasts, this is a heavenly day. So, here are my picks for the two budding superstars.
CC is having the worst shooting stretch of her young career. She is averaging just 11.6 points per game in the last five games on an abysmal 28.9% shooting. This period brought her scoring average from around 19 to below 17 PPG.
CC has scored 12 or fewer in four of the five games. I have been going “Over” for points despite her struggles. And will continue to do so because a turnaround game is just around the corner.
While her scoring has suffered, her playmaking remains top-notch. The PG has dished 9 or more assists in four of the five matches. Thus, I am comfortable going “over” for assists rather than points.

Bueckers has been a terrific scorer in her rookie year. It is not a stretch to say that she is having a better offensive season than CC. She has put up 18.1 PPG on an efficient 44.7% FG. The guard has scored 17 in six of the last eight games (20 or more in five games).
I fancy a big night on the offensive end for her and will go “Over” here.
In terms of assists, Bueckers has dished 5.4 APG, which is over the mark during her final year in college. She has delivered 5 or more helpers in four of the last seven games. But I expect her to go ‘Under’ here.

Clark is going through a horrid three-point stretch. She is 4/35 from deep in the last five matches, the worst three-point window in WNBA history! But the Wings’ perimeter defense is weak, and she is likely to make over two triples here.
On the other hand, Bueckers is more of a mid-range and paint player. She has done a decent job of making 1.1 triples on 32.7% shooting. She has made 1 or more in three of the last four games, but I’d rather not risk betting “Over”. I’d rather avoid this one.
