Cody Rhodes Saves Randy Orton From Brutalization, Announces His Match Against Drew McIntyre at Wrestlepalooza

Cody Rhodes returned to Friday Night SmackDown and saved his mentor, Randy Orton, from an after-match assault at the hands of Drew McIntyre. Drew McIntyre was lining up for a Claymore to send Randy Orton through the announcer’s table, the same move that injured Cody Rhodes. The Champion, however, had other plans as he returned, took him down, and announced their match for Wrestlepalooza.

Cody Rhodes stopped Drew McIntyre from injuring yet another superstar. Cody Rhodes was out of WWE due to an injury he suffered when Drew McIntyre Claymored him through the announcer’s table. Randy Orton would have suffered the same fate had Cody Rhodes not saved the day. Cody Rhodes saved Randy Orton, delivered a Cross Rhodes to Drew McIntyre, and announced their match at Wrestlepalooza.

A Distraction From The Referee Cost Randy Orton The Match

Drew McIntyre and Randy Orton were going toe to toe in the most brutal match of Friday Night SmackDown when the voices started talking inside Randy Orton’s head. He was seen talking to him and setting up for a Punt Kick when the referee stopped him, pissing him off. Randy Orton still tried the Punt Kick, but the distraction gave Drew McIntyre ample time to move out of harm’s way.

Drew McIntyre then pushes Randy Orton towards the referee and delivers a Claymore to win the match. Drew McIntyre was in the match to hurt Randy Orton as he went after his leg from the moment the match started. Randy Orton and Drew McIntyre have fought each other in numerous matches, and the latter has a firm hold on the number of wins over Randy Orton. He added one more to his tally with a win tonight.
