Atlanta and Indiana are 2-2 in the 2025 WNBA season!
The much-awaited 2025 WNBA playoffs are here! On the opening day, all eight teams will be up against their opposite-seeded teams, and it’s a no-brainer that they would want to kick off the postseason with a victory. In the second game of the opening round clashes, the third-seeded Atlanta Dream will welcome their sixth-seeded rivals at The Gateway Center Arena in Georgia on Sunday, September 14.
The Atlanta Dream pulled off their best regular season in the history of the franchise. Moreover, they finished the campaign on a six-game winning streak, and they enter the playoffs with all of the confidence. The Fever, on the other hand, have won each of their last three games. While fans trust Atlanta’s lineup consisting of names such as Allisha Gray, Rhyne Howard, and Brionna James, expectations are no less with the Fever as well.
Indiana, despite facing multiple injury setbacks, managed to make the postseason. The two teams faced off four times this regular season, splitting the four games. Star player Caitlin Clark played in both victories and one loss. Though her absence comes as an advantage for their rivals, Indiana is a team that shouldn’t be underestimated. Being led by Kelsey Mitchell, it is still a threat despite missing five players with season-ending injuries.
While Atlanta aims to end its six-season long second-round drought, Stephanie White’s team seeks its first semifinal berth since 2015. It would be interesting to see which team moves ahead, and get a step closer to the coveted title. Let’s get into the 2025 WNBA playoffs injury reports and expected starting lineups for the Dream and Fever ahead of their first round 1 game.
