Las Vegas Aces continued their dominant run in the WNBA on Sunday night as they dispatched the Chicago Sky 80-66 to extend their winning streak to 14 matches. The reigning MVP A’ja Wilson again stole the show with her outstanding performance at T-Mobile Arena. The whole attention was on NFL’s first week clash, Wilson made headlines for her WNBA record.
Sunday felt like another dominant day for the Aces and A’ja Wilson. The reigning MVP scored another 30-point performance and pushed her name ahead in the race to become 2025 WNBA MVP. Wilson finished with 31 points and 11 rebounds.
It was Wilson’s 13th game of the season where she scored at least 30 points. It’s a new single-season WNBA record. She surpassed Jewell Loyd and Maya Moore for the most ever in a single season.

A’ja Wilson has also surged to the top of the WNBA MVP race as she surpassed Napheesa Collier in betting odds. Wilson is leading in total points, blocks, defensive rebounds, win shares, player efficiency rating and 30-point games.
It is the third season for Wilson where she reached 900-point mark which is higher than the rest of the league. During the Las Vegas Aces’ 14-match winning streak, A’ja averaged 27.4 points and 12.0 rebounds per contest. “It’s dominant,” Hammon said. “She’s dominant on both ends, and it’s really special to have a front row seat to watch her great greatness.”
With her special performance, she guided Las Vegas into a second-place tie with the Atlanta Dream. Both teams have secured home advantage for the 2025 playoffs. Now, they target the second spot as the first is already taken by the Minnesota Lynx.

Apart from Wilson, Jackie Young scored 20 points and nine assists, while Chelsea Gray added 13 points. Aces led WNBA with 87.4 points on the league’s second-best 46.9% shooting percentage during their 14-match winning streak. Las Vegas conceded 77.4 points per game, fourth-lowest in the league during that streak.
