CM Punk warned Becky Lynch that she would regret laying hands on him, and he proved it right tonight when AJ Lee returned to WWE after 13 years. CM Punk entered the ring after Becky Lynch, and the latter again slapped CM Punk numerous times while Seth Rollins watched and laughed about it.
Since CM Punk would never have laid his hands on a female wrestler, AJ Lee entered the arena and started a brutal beatdown on Becky Lynch to get her husband’s revenge. AJ Lee drove Becky Lynch away and then hugged CM Punk to close SmackDown in their hometown of Chicago.
CM Punk lost in a Fatal Four-Way match to Seth Rollins when the latter’s wife, Becky Lynch, delivered a low blow to him. This didn’t stop there as Becky Lynch slapped CM Punk multiple times on Monday Night Raw. Monday Night Raw was repeated on SmackDown when Becky Lynch laid hands on CM Punk again. What she didn’t consider was that it’s CM Punk’s hometown.
AJ Lee returned to WWE and laid waste to her. This, however, is just the beginning of a new rivalry between AJ Lee and Becky Lynch, continuing the old one between CM Punk and Seth Rollins. Seth Rollins’s obsession with CM Punk has cost the latter multiple times since his return to WWE.
Whether it’s CM Punk’s loss at Elimination Chamber, WrestleMania, or at Night of Champions, all have Seth Rollins written all over them. This insanity continued at SummerSlam when CM Punk defeated Gunther to become the new World Heavyweight Champion, but Seth Rollins cashed in on him, cutting his title reign short to less than 5 minutes.
Seth Rollins crossed all limits when he used his wife against CM Punk at Clash in Paris. The one time CM Punk was about to win the World Heavyweight title back, Becky Lynch low-blowed him, helping her husband retain the title. To make things worse, Becky Lynch slapped CM Punk on Raw and then SmackDown tonight, forcing AJ Lee to return to WWE to seek her husband’s revenge.
