Ace Flagg, twin brother of No.1 pick Cooper Flagg, commits to Maine
Many teams were eager to land Cooper Flagg, but it was the Mavericks who got the first pick in the draft. However, soon other NBA teams will get to try their luck again but towards another Flagg, Ace Flagg.
The twin brother of Cooper Flagg, Ace has committed to Maine and will be playing his freshman year, being a three-star recruit. The twin brothers played together in school, winning titles at Nokomis Regional High School and Montverde Academy.
However, given Cooper Flagg’s elite talents at an early age, he chose to reclassify a year early. He made an impact at Duke, lived up to the hype, and became the No. 1 pick in 2025. Ace Flagg is trying to walk on the same path as his twin brother.

He had offers from a few Division 1 colleges including Richmond, West Virginia, Maine, George Washington, Florida Gulf Coast, and St Joseph’s. However, the teenage sensation chose Maine to stay close to his family. If things progress well, Ace could enter next year’s NBA Draft class just like his brother.
Ace Flagg may not match Cooper’s pre-college hype, but he offers unique on-court qualities. Ace is known for his lateral quickness and leaping ability. He also ranked top 2 in physicality and toughness at Montverde.
Ace Flagg can play a role of rotational wing for Maine, who spaces the floor and locks down versatile forwards. He is likely to become a primary rebounder there and a secondary ball-handler.
His work ethic and leadership skills sets him apart from many other first-year college players. Ace Flagg has been praised by his former coaches as one of the hardest workers. With current estimates, the Flagg brother is likely to become a second round pick in 2027 depending on development and role expansion.
I cover NBA at the Playoffs. I specialize in covering breaking news, Previews, in-depth analysis (breaking down numbers, complex stats, nuances of the game, and converting them into reader-friendly content). Furthermore, I got into the sports media while looking for an entry into the media industry. I love International Relations, and since entry without majoring in the subject was difficult, I got into sports. Now, while majoring in International Relations on one side, I also like covering sports as part of the journey as a young Journalist.
