The NHL community is on the cusp of the 2025-2026 season. The Stanley Cup hosted a consecutive winner with the Florida Panthers last year. The Panthers were able to beat the Edmonton Oilers last season 5-1 becoming the champions second year in a row.
Their winning game in the finale was marked by the star performance of Sam Reinhart. Reinhart scored 4 goals taking his team to a deciding victory. However, it won’t be long before NHL starts gearing up for yet another season of dramatic matches and close calls on the ice.
As we go through the NHL Preseason Schedule for 2025-2026, fans are going to witness 104 games throughout a 15 days of action. The games will be played across 40 NHL and neutral site venues.
The NHL Preseason starts on September 20, 2025 and is going to last until October 4, 2025. It is a given that all 32 NHL clubs will host at least one preseason game during the 15 day schedule.

There is also a split-squad double header match in Denver on September 21. The Colorado Avalanche and Utah Mammoth are going to play a matinee at Magness Arena (neutral site). The teams will have their final match at the home rink of Colorado Avalanche- Ball Arena.
The final day of NHL Preseason 2025-2026 Schedule will host 11 games on October 4. After a short break of three days, it will immediately give way to the Regular season. The 2025-2026 season officially opens on October 7 with a triple header match.
The opening games 2025-2026 NHL Season are going to start with the defending champions- Florida Panthers. They are going to face the Chicago Blackhawks from 5:00 PM EDT.
