Now they are aiming to remain unbeaten in their first three MLS games for the second straight season. Charlotte FC, led by Dean Smith, are seeking their first-ever three-match unbeaten start in MLS. They have earned points in their last seven league matches.
They are also unbeaten in three consecutive away games. However, they have never won a competitive match in Miami, with their last visit ending in a 4-0 defeat in the 2023 Leagues Cup quarter-finals.
Lionel Messi’s availability remains uncertain as Inter Miami prepare to host Charlotte FC at Chase Stadium. The Argentine has missed the last two matches against Houston Dynamo and Cavalier, with coach Javier Mascherano managing his workload. Mascherano insists and has publicly reassured the fans that Messi is not injured.
However, he confirmed the 37-year-old is dealing with fatigue after playing three matches in six days. “As for Leo, I follow what the doctors tell me. The doctors told me that he doesn’t have any injuries or scars. He is fatigued,” Mascherano told reporters during the press conference after their win against Cavalier FC. His participation will be determined closer to kickoff.
