2026 Formula 1 Driver Lineup- Which Teams Have Confirmed their Drivers for the Upcoming Formula 1 Season!

As viewers prepare for the 2025 Formula 1 season's grand finale between the McLarens. Here's a list of the drivers who will appear in the 2026 season as of August 2025.

A major change is going to take place in Formula 1. After the 2026 season, F1 will be using a new regulation car in the sport. The 2026 regulations are going to debut major engine and design philosophies. Additionally, the next season of Formula 1 is also going to witness two new teams entering the spot.

Cadillac and Audi are going to bring forward team changes in the upcoming season. While Audi is only going to take over the current Kick Sauber F1 team, Cadillac is going to debut an 11th team in Formula 1. As the 2025 season comes closer to its finale, people are excited to see the battle between the McLarens pan out. However, there are also questions about the grid for the 2026 Formula 1 season. Here’s a summary of the 2026 Formula 1 driver lineup for the teams.

2026 Formula 1 Driver Lineup- Who are the Starting Drivers for the Teams in the Upcoming Season?

There are going to be a total of 22 drivers and 11 teams participating in the next season of Formula 1. While, there are teams which do not have a confirmed lineup for their next season, some of the other teams are going to use their old players who are racing on a multi-year contract.

McLaren

McLaren are undeniably the best team in the current season. There are no guarantees if the team will continue to dominate in the upcoming season. However the Papaya outfit’s selected drivers for the next season are not going to change. Here’s McLaren’s driver lineup-

  • Oscar Piastri – 81 – AUS
  • Lando Norris – 4 – GBR

Ferrari

The Maranello teams sits second in the driver standings. Their priorities are set straight for the upcoming season in Formula 1. Ferrari already has one of the best driver lineups. They will also continue with the same lineup for the upcoming Formula 1 season. Here’s Ferrari’s 2026 Formula 1 driver lineup-

  • Charles Leclerc – 16 – MON
  • Lewis Hamilton – 44 – GBR

Red Bull Racing

Chaos, disappointment and major changes define Red Bull Racing in their current Formula 1 season. They have gone through a fall from grace. Their main driver Max Verstappen is not going to leave them anytime soon. But the team’s dilemma of providing Verstappen with a competitive enough teammate continues. Red Bull’s 2026 Formula 1 driver lineup is-

  • Max Verstappen – 33 – NED
  • NOT ANNOUNCED

Mercedes

The Silver Arrows stole the show in the driver market pretty easily. Mercedes F1 were vigorously linked to Max Verstappen. At one point, it felt like the Brackley outfit is going to become the four-time-champion’s next destination. However, now that the rumors have subsided it seems that Mercedes is going to retain their driver lineup. The paddock is still awaiting their official announcement.

Aston Martin

Under the technical leadership of Adrian Newey, Aston Martin are looking forward to turn a new lead in their F1 journey. The team has faced several changes and variety of performances over the years. They are going to put their faith in their drivers with no changes to the lineup. Aston Martin’s 2026 Formula 1 driver lineup stays the same.

  • Fernando Alonso – 14 – ESP
  • Lance Stroll – 18 – CAN

Alpine

There’s nothing worse than being unable to provide results while the other teams are progressing far rapidly. Alpine have the expertise of Pierre Gasly but they do not have the car to support him. They are also not sure about their second driver in the upcoming season. Alpine was among the teams who went the through the fiasco of a mid-season driver change.

Haas

Over the years, Haas have been home to some of the better Formula 1 drivers. Often, they lacked the machinery under them to make a difference however. The only American team of Formula 1 also found it difficult to handle rookies. But the 2025 season brought forth a positive change for the team. They have a reliable rookie and good car in the midfield too. Here’s their 2026 Formula 1 driver lineup-

  • Oliver Bearman – 31 – GBR
  • Esteban Ocon – 87 – FRA

Racing Bulls

The Racing Bulls underwent a surprise driver change two-races into the season. Although, this time they are performing much more than a Red Bull junior team. Isack Hadjar has been their lucky charm as a rookie. And now, even Liam Lawson is starting to find his mojo back. Racing Bulls may end up retaining their drivers even though they do not have an official announcement for the same.

Williams

Williams struck gold in the 2025 season when it comes to drivers. They are using the services of former Red Bull Racing and Ferrari drivers. The talent and experience shared between the two has been keeping Williams afloat in the midfield. Their car does end up disappointing sometimes but their drivers do not. The 2026 Formula 1 driver lineup for Williams is-

  • Alex Albon – 23 – GBR
  • Carlos Sainz – 55 – ESP

Kick Sauber (To be Audi)

Kick Sauber’s rapid growth in the midfield is becoming the talk of the town. First a podium and now a best ever finish from their rookie. The team looks set to bring forth positive changes in the 2026 Formula 1 championship. The combined efforts of both their drivers were enough to make Sauber believe in their ability and stick with them for the 2026 Formula 1 driver lineup-

  • Nico Hülkenberg – 27 – GER
  • Gabriel Bortoleto – 5 – BRA

Cadillac

The driver market is full of mysteries. And the biggest question plaguing the community is Cadillac’s 2026 Formula 1 driver lineup. Is the team going to bring a new contender in Formula 1? Are they to mark the return of Valtteri Bottas or Sergio Checo Perez. There’s a lot of competition for their lineup and the team is not going to drop a hint anytime soon.
